The path of Buddhist philosophy and practice is a personal journey of experience and reflection. From the very beginning, meditation practice can bring a sense of physical release and mental freedom. But the white noise of our rushed and materialistic lives can get in the way of understanding. The Four Seals encapsulates the essence of the Buddha’s teachings and is regarded as the foundation of Buddhist philosophy. In four simple but profound lines, it reveals the progressive logic of the Buddhist view, from an analysis of suffering to nirvana. Integrating this view into our personal experience is what makes the Buddhist path come alive.

Dungse Jampal Norbu is known for his pragmatic, curious, and creative approach to traditional Buddhist teachings. Dungse-la is Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche’s son and Dharma Heir. He has lived and travelled extensively in Asia, but spent much of his youth in Colorado. With life-long guidance from Kongtrul Rinpoche, particularly in traditional Buddhist philosophical studies in India and the US, Dungse-la now teaches and spends time in retreat each year.
