In this evening talk, Dungse Jampal Norbu introduces basic meditation practice alongside the practices of self-reflection and kindness that lay at the heart of the Buddhist path. Self-reflection allows us to take responsibility for our minds through introspection, yielding perspective rather than reaction, wisdom rather than ignorance. While kindness and compassion are common to all spiritual traditions, Buddhism makes a specific argument about their relevance to our own happiness: the more we put others in the center of our care, rather than our small self, the happier we become.
